The Parkland Airshed Management Zone (PAMZ) is pleased to announce that it is now accepting nominations for the 2020 edition of its Blue Skies Awards.

These awards recognize individuals, organizations, businesses and local governments who are doing exemplary work to improve air quality in central Alberta. The awards recognize achievements in:

  • Innovation and application of technology to reduce energy use and air pollution;
  • Environmental protection activities that reduce air pollution, conserve energy or protect environmental health; 
  • Public education and outreach activities that reduce air pollution to protect and promote a healthy environment.

The public is encouraged to nominate individuals, groups, local governments, businesses and industries in central Alberta that they feel are worthy of such awards. Self-nominations will also be accepted. Nomination applications are simple to complete and can be found at www.pamz.org/blue-skies/. The deadline for nominations is April 24 and they must be submitted digitally to [email protected].

“Once again, we are proud to hold our biannual Blue Skies Awards program. The awards recognize those who are making a positive impact on our air quality in central Alberta thus helping maintain a quality of life that is the envy of much of the world,” said Executive Director Kevin Warren. 

Award recipients will be recognized at a luncheon event at Kerry Wood Nature Centre on Clean Air Day, June 3, 2020 from 11:30am – 1:30pm. Tickets can be purchased for $15 by emailing [email protected].
